What is a presale
A presale is a sales window open before the general sale, reserved for a targeted audience: subscribers to a fan club, members of a program, customers of a partner or holders of a specific code. It aims to reward the most loyal fans and spread demand over several niches. Access is often conditional on prior registration and, sometimes, on a code received by e-mail or displayed on a personal space. Pre-sale does not guarantee you will get a place, but it gives you a head start.
The main types of presales
- The artist presale: open to subscribers to the artist's official club or to their newsletter, sometimes the very first to start.
- The fan club presale : reserved for members of an official fan club, generally upon paid or free registration depending on the case.
- The partner presale : offered by a tour partner (media, brand, operator), with a code or dedicated access.
- The ticketing presale : open to customers or subscribers of a ticketing platform, before the public sale.
How to access a presale
- 1
Follow the artist to the source
Subscribe to the official newsletter, the artist's club and its networks: this is often where pre-sales are announced and codes distributed.
- 2
Locate the exact date and time
A presale has a specific window, sometimes very short. Write down the date, time, and time zone so you're ready when it opens.
- 3
Retrieve your code if necessary
Some pre-sales require a code received by email or displayed in a members area. Check it in advance so you don't have to look for it at the last minute.
- 4
Prepare your account and payment
Log in beforehand, check your login details and your payment method in order to finalize the purchase as quickly as possible.
- 5
Be ready when you open
Log in a few minutes before the presale starts, choose your category quickly and check the total before validating.
Prepare well for the big day
The success of a pre-sale often comes down to preparation. Having an account already created and verified, knowing the targeted category and the budget, and having a means of payment ready saves precious seconds when places go quickly. Avoid discovering a connection or payment problem at the critical moment: test everything in advance. If a channel presale fails, another presale or general sale remains a second chance.
